Dublin
A Dublin flares toward the rim. The chamber often follows that cone. 238/22 and 232/22 are Dublins in the 2022 archive. They read taller at the top than a billiard and sit differently on the felt. The line is still tight. The stem is still cut to the pipe.
Acorn
An acorn is a rounded bowl that pinches toward the rim, like the nut. Acorn 469/25 is the 2025 example in the cabinet. It is closer to an apple than to a Dublin, but the rim is tighter. If you like a round bowl that does not open as wide as a tomato, this is the comparison to make.
Tomato and eskimo
Tomato 419/24 is flattened, wide, low. Eskimo 274/22 is a wide, often slightly flattened bowl in the Danish taste — a cousin of the tomato and the pot. Both are short in the pocket and broad in the hand. Neither is a ukulele; the ukulele keeps more height in the bowl.
