Freehand, not unfinished
A freehand follows the block more than a factory silhouette. It is still drilled, still stamped, still meant to smoke. Levon’s lattice pieces carve an outer cage and keep an inner bowl — a double wall. The smoke does not travel through ornament. The ornament is the wall you can see.
Three from the albums
496/26 is a lattice freehand from the current stock album. 481/25 is a basket-weave double wall from 2025. 479/25 is a darker sister with a bronze ferrule. Each serial is one pipe. There is no “model 496” produced again next year.
Who it is for
If you want a classical billiard, start there. If you want to see the jeweler and the carver on the same briar, the freehands are the clearest pages in the cabinet. Write to the atelier if a cage or a weave speaks to you and the piece has already left eBay.
