Country, name, Hand Made
Every finished pipe is stamped Armenia · Asikyan · Hand Made, then the serial. The first three digits are the count of pipes from the bench. The last two are the year. 492/26 is the four-hundred-and-ninety-second pipe, finished in 2026. 370/23 is an earlier billiard from 2023. The number is unique; it is not a model code.
The letters on the stem
From pipe 116/21 the stem also carries two letters — AL, for Asikyan Levon — often inlaid in gold. A silver or brass band may add an Armenian petroglyph. The jeweler’s hand and the pipe maker’s stamp sit on the same shank.
Why the serial helps a buyer
On this site the serial is the address of the piece: /collection/492-26-lovat is 492/26. On eBay the same digits appear in the title. If a pipe is listed, the button on its page goes to that item. If it is not listed, the shop is still the place to look — the serial tells you which pipe you asked about.
